Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a globally recognized standard for safe, circular and sustainable products made for the circular economy. Applying the Cradle to Cradle design principle means to not only minimise negative influences but to leave a positive footprint. This creates products and processes that are safe for people, healthy for the environment and successful for business.
From August 2020, all grades from the Munkedal Mill including the full Munken assortment (Munken Design Range, Munken Book Range), Amber Graphic and Munken Kraft are Cradle to Cradle Certified® – as the first full paper assortments worldwide. In addition, the recipes for these grades (Amber Graphic, Munken Kraft) from the Arctic Paper Kostrzyn S.A. production site, have been adapted so that grades from this production site earned a Silver Level Material Health Certificate and can also be used by other manufacturers in Cradle to Cradle processes. Arctic Paper will take further steps in this direction.
The entire production process for the mill in Munkedal was inspected by the EPEA, innovation partner and C2C Certified® Assessment Body, and certified according to the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard. Development opportunities are outlined and will now be implemented in the medium and long term to achieve even better results. The Munkedal mill is the first paper mill in the world to have successfully completed this certification.
